Lord Leather Conditioner; A Review
Day 5 of VEDA is a product review. And I really wanted to make a video of this product because it worked really well, and I think they video shows that. I don’t know about you, but I am always on the search for a great product that will preserve my tack. After all, our tack can be really expensive, and it is an investment that can last a very long time, if it is care for properly. If you have never heard of Lord leather conditioner, let me share with you my personal experience.
Finding The Perfect Leather Conditioner
One day about a month ago, I was scrolling through Facebook, and an ad came across with a before and after picture of a saddle. The before picture showed the saddle seat in pretty rough condition. And the after picture was really impressive. It got me thinking about my own saddle. I have an older JES close contact saddle, which I love. But I don’t think it was babied by its former owner.
So I have been looking for an incredible leather conditioner that will keep my saddle in the best condition it can be for as long as possible.
Perfect opportunity for Lord Leather Conditioner to pop up on my Facebook feed!
The Company
The company is a family owned and operated company, with a 50 year old secret family recipe that was developed by the current owner’s grandfather. And I love their vision statement:
“Our vision is simple: We want to be known as the best, most trusted, leather conditioner you can buy.”
And they had a deal, 50% off, so I figured I would give it a try. And I am SO glad that I did!
This conditioner in incredible. The instructions were a little different from other conditioners:
- Step 1-Clean your leather
- Step 2- apply the conditioner with a lint free rag
- Step 3- leave on for 8 hours
- Step 4- wipe off remaining conditioner, and buff
I have never left a leather conditioner on my saddle for 8 hours, but I wanted to make sure I followed the instructions exactly, so that is what I did. My saddle had been cleaned, so I opened up the bottle and put some conditioner on a rag. My saddle soaked it up, so I added some more.
And after I got the saddle loaded with conditioner, it already looked better.
I waited the full 8 hours, and went back to my saddle, most of the conditioner had been absorbed, so I didn’t really have much of any excess to wipe off. And the leather was so soft! Even the billet guards were softer! This was the conditioner I have been wanting!
The Results
The most noticeable difference to me was the smell of my saddle after using the conditioner. Before I used it, the saddle always had a musty, old smell to it that would not go away no matter how many times I cleaned and conditioned my saddle. It always made me sad, because it didn’t have that awesome leather smell. However, after I used Lord Leather Conditioner, that musty, old smell was gone! The simple fact that it got rid of that odor, was enough to have me sold on this product.
I also had a really old cheap “cardboard” leather bridle that is like 20 years old, so I decided to see what it could do for that. And again, I was really impressed. The leather is still cheap leather, but it is soft and pliable, and will last a long time, thanks to Lord Leather Conditioner.
And I should have let you know this in the beginning, but I wanted to share this with you, not because I receive anything from this company (I don’t) but because it’s a really great product that I think you could find useful. And I am sure you are looking for the best product, and an honest review of it. So when I find something great, I want to share it with the world!
They have a great website with all of their information. And they have 2 leather conditioners, and the one I bought was Lord Leather Conditioner, Tack and Boot Conditioner. Not that it matters, but if you visit their website, tell them you heard about them from The Budget Equestrian!
Until next time, stay passionate and enjoy your ride!
