No Stirrups November – Ready, Set, Go!

No Stirrups November – Ready, Set, Go!

Are you ready for November???? I am! Are you ready for a fantastical No Stirrups November challenge???? I am! And I am ready to present the challenge to you, today!

So ready or not, here comes November. And along with the, a new challenge! And this challenge is legit. Not only have I prepared a complete month of horse related fun for you, but there are prizes, and oh yes…..

Ribbons!!!!

That’s right, this is a full fledged No Stirrups November challenge complete with a prize at the end for everyone who completes the challenge!

And that is the big prize that everyone who completes the challenge will receive. But in addition to that, I have secured a few prizes as well. As well as couple of extra ribbons, because well, ribbons are cool! The ribbon below is an example of the ribbon I had made for my September challenge that my friend Vickie and I did. And while I wanted to have the No Stirrups November Challenge ribbon for this blog post – it isn’t quite ready. Well it is, but it won’t be here until Wednesday. But once it gets here I promise I will share a photo on my Instagram page as soon as it arrives.

I have been reaching out to some of my most favorite horse and equestrian related companies who have agreed to offer some prizes for a drawing at the end of the challenge from everyone who completes it.

So how about it? Are you in? Want to learn more about what this challenge has to offer? Well keep reading!

Budget Equestrian No Stirrups November Challenge – The Rules

Ride at least 10 times in November, for at least a portion of the ride, without stirrups. Entrants will receive a beautiful rosette ribbon upon completion! This challenge is limited to 250 participants within the United States. Maybe next year I can do more, but I really want to make sure this goes well, so I am limiting how many people I can have this year. Which means, get your registration in as soon as you can!

The challenge will begin on Monday, November 1, 2021 and will conclude on Tuesday November 30, 2021 at 11:59PM mountain standard time. The goal is to have 10 rides on your horse with a portion of those 10 rides to be completed without stirrups. Every ride done without stirrups counts! The main goal of the challenge is to complete the 10 rides without using stirrups for a portion or all of the ride. You do not have to do the entire ride without stirrups. Everyone who completes the challenge and turns in their calendar by December 6th will be eligible to enter the random drawing for prizes. Additional prizes may be awarded to those who participate on social media prompts and posts!

Download The Calendar

You will document your 10 rides on an official Budget Equestrian calendar which you can download the calendar here.

Download calendar

You have until November 7, 2021 to join the challenge – so get in on it today!

You can add a picture (my favorite way to document my rides) or simply put an x. There is no right or wrong way to track your rides. I just ask that you make it simple for me to see! Once you have completed your 10 rides, hold on to your calendar until Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Then you simply email me your calendar (lgoodwin80107@gmail.com – sorry, it’s not a fancy Budget Equestrian name – I’m working on that) and then after the final drawing on December 7th, I will mail you your prize! It’s that simple! Pretty easy right? You have until December 6, 2021 to get your calendar to me.

Submit Your Completed Calendar

You can email your completed calendar starting December 1, 2021 to lgoodwin80107@gmail.com

If you printed your calendar to mark it up with a writing utensil, take a photo of it with your phone and email it. Please be sure the photo is clear and legible!

This challenge isn’t about who gets their rides done the fastest. You must wait to submit your calendar until December 1, 2021. Additional prizes will be announced after December 7, 2021!

If you are unable to finish the 10 rides within the month of November, that is ok! If you are registered for the challenge, you can finish at your own pace and I will still mail you your ribbon in December.

I have also created a private Facebook group called The Budget Equestrian No Stirrups November Riding Group which you will be allowed to join once I have received your entry form for the challenge. In this group you can post your progress, your photos, or any tips that you have that may help the group. Only positivity is allowed in this group though. No trolling, or mean comments will be tolerated.

On December 7, 2021 there will be a random drawing for prizes! So if your name is selected for a prize, you will receive your ribbon AND your prize in the same shipment. There is no additional charges for shipping prizes. If you win, you win! And your prize will be shipped to you free of charge.

How To Register For No Stirrups November Challenge

To enter the challenge, you click on this link right here! Cost to participate is $25.00 to enter, and this covers the cost of the ribbons, as well as the shipping. So yes, you will have to invest in yourself to join. After you click the Buy Now button, you put your information into the box, and I will be alerted that you have signed up. It’s that easy! I will be keeping track of everyone who signs up and will send you the link to the Facebook group once I have confirmed you are in the challenge. Pre-registration is required to participate in the challenge. The deadline for entry is November 7, 2021, 11:59 PM Mountain Standard Time

Terms And Conditions

Do not ride without stirrups until speaking with your trainer to determine if it’s right for you and your horse. Do not ride your horse if it is unfit or otherwise would be inappropriate to do so. Use common sense, if something doesn’t seem right with you or your horse, or if your horse seems a bit fresh wait to ride without stirrups until another day.

Exhibitors participate at their own risk, understanding the potential risks associated with all animals and equine activities. By entering, each participant who engages in an animal/equine activity expressly assumes the risks of engaging in and legal responsibility for injury, loss, or damage to person(s) or property resulting from the risk of animal/equine activities. By entering exhibitors agree to release and hold harmless Budget Equestrian, its employees, contractors, and affiliates from any and all liability(ies). As the cost of shipping outside the US is very expensive this challenge is open to US residents. If a non-US resident is interested in this challenge please email us and we will look into the cost of shipping to your county plus the entry fee. Entrant’s photos, name, age, city, state, may be used to promote the challenge. This includes, but is not limited to, outreach via social media and websites. Refund Policy- No refunds are allowed.

All ages are welcome, but for riders under the age of 16 a parent or guardian will have to agree to the terms of the challenge.

Giving Back To Those Who Deserve It

Also, a portion of every entry will be donated to a really incredible horse rescue, Drifter’s Heart of Hope. The people that run this rescue are so incredible. They rescue horses, and then give them a second chance.

Every time I go to The Parker Trail Riders shows, I am reminded of the work they do. There is a little girl who got her horse from them. And it makes my heart literally smile every time I see them.

I can’t wait to drive over to their rescue and present them with a big fat check because of awesome horse people, like YOU that decided to give a little. They deserve it, for the work that they do.

No Stirrups November – Ready, Set, Go!

Ok, I think that about covers the challenge, and what to expect. Are you up for it? I hope so! I will be participating in the challenge right along side you, but don’t worry, I’m saving the prizes for YOU! Just consider me a part of your support group, applauding you as you work your way through the challenge!

No Stirrups November – Ready, Set, Go!

So get ready, get so, GO! Sign up for the challenge, and get ready for some fun!

Completely a participation achievement. My goal in creating this challenge is to motivate riders to focus on the improvement rather than who gets the most rides. Because no matter how hard we all try there are many of us who are participating that have no way of getting in more than 10 rides. And I want to push for quality, no quantity. I hope this makes sense 🙂

Hi! I’m Lisa. I started The Budget Equestrian to share what I’ve learned about owning and caring for horses. If there is a budget way to do something with horses – I’ve tried it!
I’ve spent my whole life around horses, and I have recently adopted a Quarter Horse gelding named Timon and a little pony named Pumbaa. You can learn more here. Thank you for stopping by, and happy horsekeeping!
