When it comes to filling stockings, I like to fill them with practical things. Fun things yes, but things that the recipient can actually use. So while there is candy, the stocking is also filled with gifts that can be used in every day life. That;s just how I roll when it comes to filling the stockings.
25 Stocking Stuffer Ideas for Horse People
If you have horses, having a headlamp for night tie check ins, or feedings, or first aid is invaluable. And this is the best headlamp I have ever used. My husband bought me this very headlamp about 6 years ago. And it still works just as good as it did when I first got it.
Every horse I have ever given these too absolutely loves them. They smell really good, but I haven’t ever tried them myself. But if Frisby loves them as much as he does, they must be good right?
You can buy a 1 pound bag of these treats on Amazon for $7.90.
Keeping your ears warm when your hair is pulled back is a big deal. Well, it is to me. Which is why I love these fleece headbands. They keep my ears warm, and also keep my hair pulled back out of my face after I have had my helmet on for awhile.
And this is a pack of 2 ear warmers for only $8.99!
If your hands get dry and cracked in the wintertime, or just from doing lots of barn chores, O’Keeffe’s hand cream would be a great gift to have!
And this is a two pack. So you can give one and keep one, or have 2 containers to fill a stocking, or two. It costs $12.33 for the 2 pack.
And to go along with the O’Keeffe’s hand cream, you could also give the foot cream too!
It also comes in a 2 pack. And this stuff works great! If your feet are dry, and cracked, this cream will help. And you can still feel it working even 8 hours after putting it on. You don’t need a lot either, a little bit goes a long way.
I received this in a Heart to Horse Box, and I love this thing! All of my boots are nice and shiny now. I haven’t been able to test out the anti-dust properties, but as far as easy shine, this thing is awesome! I would love to get this in my stocking, and I think other equestrians would too.
It comes in black, brown, and clear. And it is meant for smooth leathers, like tall boots. The price point is anywhere from $2.89 to $6.99 on Amazon, but you may be able to find it cheaper in a local store.
Ok, hear me out. I know this is a beard gift set, BUT the brush is perfect for a horse face brush! And it comes with a little scissors too! But the biggest reason I like this is the beard brush. It is the perfect size to be used on a horses face, and the comb would be nice for a mane too!
So maybe not exactly made for horses, but it would work perfect for one!
Dollar Store Tall Boot Socks
If you saw my recent video, and article on making a Dollar Store Gift Basket, you saw these socks. I can tell you I have tested out all socks, and they are comfy, and the tall socks work very well for boot socks. And for a dollar? You could get several pair!
Who couldn’t use some lip balm? And Burt Bee’s is very nice! It’s also affordable if you buy it in a gift pack like this one. It’s $7.69 for a 4 pack. And with Amazon Prime, you can get it shipped to you in 2 days or less.
And how about a fancy bar of soap? With over 30 different choices, you are sure to be able to find the perfect scent! This soaps are made in France and have Shea butter in them, which helps add moisture, and will get even the dirtiest barn hands clean without drying out your skin. And it will make the bathroom smell great too!
But a word of caution, if you are going to package this up in the stocking, you probably want to wrap it in something to prevent that soap smell getting to the other gifts too. Maybe wrap it in a pretty washcloth, tied up in a bow?
While you can find these on Amazon, the biggest microfiber towel I have found for the best price is at the dollar store.
And this thing is HUGE! I also buy utility towels at the dollar store. They work great in the barn, and even can be used for cleaning tack.
This is a very affordable option. Yes, you can buy a book like this one brand new on Amazon for full price, but if you can check the other sellers, and maybe get it shipped to you in time for Christmas, this would be a great gift!
I actually bought this book on Amazon for $2.99! And in case you were wondering, it’s a fantastic book.
These are the best hoof picks! I love the brush on the end, it is so helpful. And the larger grip on the hoof pick makes it easy to grip. This one is a Tough One hoof pick. And you can get it for around $6.00.
While this isn’t cheap, it’s really nice to have. And this Dragon Touch action camera is affordable, when you consider how much a Go-Pro costs. For less than $50.00, this action camera can be put on a riding helmet, and your equestrian could ride around, and then come in and view their ride.
I love my little wanna be Go Pro camera, it is soooo helpful when I am filming for videos. And it’s fun too!
Ok, so this is a fancy name for a fanny pack. BUT this thing is so cool, and useful! It’s made from a lightweight but yet durable material. And this belt is a one size fits all waist belt, providing a perfect fit for your body while you exercise, or ride as if its not even there.
This Waist Pack is designed to fit all phones unlike many other ones you see on Amazon. A lot of the other Waist Packs with the slimmer belt style won’t actually fit your phone properly. This Waist Pack was designed to fit all phones from 4.7″ to 7″ to allow you to comfortably bring your phone or iPod with you. It costs $12.97 and is available with Prime 2 day shipping.
Who doesn’t love a good horse story? This is the first book of the series Show Strides. There are 3 books in the series so far. And you can find them on Amazon. Book one is the most affordable at $14.95. The other two are $16.95.
But if you wanted, you could buy all three for $48.85 which does save you a little bit of money.
Over The Door Hanger
This is a very useful, and affordable stocking stuffer. They work great for halters, girths, extras, and ear bonnets.
You could make it extra special by including something to hang on the hanger too!
I love my Equine Couture ear bonnet. This thing is so nicely made. It is heavy duty, and stands up well to repeated use. The sizing is pretty true as well. It comes in 3 colors, white, navy and black. The white is the most affordable at $13.20. And it will get here in time for Christmas with Prime 2 day free shipping!
How special would this be, to get an ear bonnet, and the over the door hanger to start an ear bonnet collection? Then you could get a new ear bonnet each year for your equestrian!
After watching someone come up to my horse, and feed him something, I decided to get one of these signs. And you know what, I never would have thought someone would feed my horse from the other side of the fence. I guess I thought it was just common sense that you don’t feed other people’s animals. Am I wrong? I mean, I don’t go up to someone’s dog and give him a steak. But I guess that doesn’t apply to horses.
But these signs are affordable, and would make a great gift. This Fergus sign is cute, but get’s the point across. It costs $10.99 on Amazon.
This adorable horse notebook is great for writing notes and ideas. It is perfect as a composition notebook, diary, and journal for anyone who love equestrian and horse riding.
It has 120 blank lined white pages (60 sheets) And it is a 6″x9″ notebook, perfect size for your desk, backpack, school, home or work. It has a sturdy matte softcover, and can be used to write notes, diary, planner, and a journal.

Dollar Store Gloves
How about a couple of pair of thermal gloves? You could get several pair since they only cost a dollar! And I don’t know about you, but I always lose my gloves. I am still searching for where I put my Roeckl Roeck Grip Gloves. I know they have got to be somewhere, I just don’t know where. But having a couple pair of extra barn gloves would always be useful!
With just a few ingredients, you can make a batch of tail serum. This stuff works! I have added several inches of growth to Frisby’s tail with this serum. And it is the best detangler I have ever used.
You could just buy the ingredients and fill the stocking, or you could make it yourself.
These are the coolest thing! These cactus balls come in a set of 6, and you put them in a laundry bag with your saddle pad, or whatever you are washing and want to get the hair out. The balls collect the hair, and you are rewarded with a hair free saddle pad! They are very affordable at Riding Warehouse at $7.95.
This is probably my favorite Haas brush to use. There is a reason there is a diamond on the strap, it makes your horse shine like a diamond! And Riding Warehouse has the best price at $19.99, and they have the brush in stock. Which means if you order it now, you should get it in time for Christmas.
I love all of my Haas brushes. And this would be a fantastic introduction to the brushes for an equestrian.
If you have a horse lover planning on going to some shows this upcoming summer, maybe a mane braiding kit would be a good idea? And if you’re thinking yes, that would be awesome, you can get it at Amazon for $8.38! While this may not be a complete kit, you could add in a bottle of Quick Braid, and a nice Professional’s Choice Mod Paddle Brush along with a small misting style water bottle and you would have a very nice (and full) stocking for Christmas!
And if you are looking for a good solution to hang your super heavy stocking, these hangers are fantastic. This year we decided to hang our family stockings on our stair railing. And these hooks work great. They are affordable too. For a set of 8 hangers, it cost $10.89. So no worries that the heavy stockings are going to fall. Each hook can hold up to 20lbs!
