I know, I know….It is a little early to be talking about equestrian gift ideas for Christmas, but hear me out. The shipping and supply issues is a big deal. And I have found that if I don’t start my gift planning, and buying early I run the risk of not getting my gifts in time for Christmas. In fact, yesterday I bought my husbands Christmas gifts because I want to make sure I could get him what he asked for.
And it was really funny how he told me what he wanted for Christmas.
We were sitting on the couch and he picked up his phone and showed me a set of Blue Diamond pots and pans.

And he said, “How about something like this for Christmas? Would you like that?” And I was thinking to myself, no, but I now know you would! So I started searching for the pots and pans that he loves, and wanted, and I found them on Amazon. And thankfully, they still have it in stock, and it has the prime shipping. And I also found him a set of blue kitchen utensils to go along with it. So now my shopping is done for my husband. I hope he isn’t reading this!
And I also had to buy a few things for my No Stirrups November drawing. And some of the items I am buying aren’t going to get here until November 29th, even with the prime shipping. So that really got me thinking that I need to get my shopping done now! And it really is a good feeling to get the shopping part of Christmas out of the way. Then, when the Christmas season is here I can focus on the fun, and enjoy the holiday season.

And while I was searching for gifts, I came across a lot of great ideas for equestrians for Christmas too, and I wanted to share them with you, in case you are starting your shopping, or if you are looking for something special to ask for this year.
Winter Grooming Kit
During the winter, my grooming kit shrinks considerably. It’s smaller because well, I don’ need a lot to groom my horses with when it’s super cold and dark outside. I also bring my grooming kit inside with me, because I do keep some hoof ointment and my homemade anti-zap concoction that I spray on my horses to prevent static from building up on their blankets. And I do not want this stuff freezing!

And I got to thinking, this would be a wonderful gift for an equestrian for Christmas! So here is what I have in my wintertime grooming kit:
- Grooming Tote – small and portable
- Rice Root Brush – great for brushing the long winter hairs and getting mud off too!
- Hoof Pick with a Brush End – The heavy duty pick is excellent for winter
- Massage Curry – Doesn’t need to be horse specific
- Regular Round Rubber Curry – the web hand strap is wonderful
- Long Bristle Flick Brush – the synthetic bristle ones seem to work better to prevent static build up
- Hoof Ointment – to keep their hooves conditioned in the dry cold weather, the small size is great for my kit!
- Anti-static spray – keeps the static out of my horses coats (more on this soon!)

Can you see why this would be an awesome gift? And everything can be bought for around $50.00, then you just put everything into the grooming kit and you have a wonderful and thoughtful gift!
Horse Vacuum
Ok, it’s really marketed as a garage vacuum – but with the super long stretchy tube – this is a horse vacuum. In fact, I bought mine last summer for about double the cost that it is on Amazon. I learned my lesson, and wanted to share this with you, because it is such a great deal – and so helpful in the winter when you can’t bathe your horse.

This thing is beyond cool! It works great, and with having it mounted on the wall in my barn, the noise isn’t a big deal for my horses. But then again, I have pretty calm horses. But I am so happy that I found this. After riding in a fancy barn that had a ‘real’ horse vacuum, I really wanted one for myself. But I was not about to spend $1000 for a vacuum.
I had told my husband about it last year, but I didn’t get one for a gift, so I bought it myself. And after having this for about 6 months, it was well worth the investment!
Sleek EZ Grooming Tool
I love this thing. I heard of it years ago, and bought other shedding tools before I finally got this. And oh my goodness, this thing is amazing! It is so satisfying to watch the hair come off! It also works great for mud and crud that gets on your horse. The Sleek EZ comes in 3 sizes, and I have the medium size one. It fits perfectly in my hand and I can groom my horses longer, especially when I see the satisfying hair coming off.
If you want to see it in action, click on the video below. So satisfying!
Knotty Girlz Halter and Lead Rope
I love the Knotty Girlz products. They have the best halters, and leads I have been able to find. And they are priced affordably. This would make a wonderful Christmas gift, getting a new halter and matching lead rope? Yes please!

The even sell them without the snap now, so you can add your own type of snap – or you can buy it with the snap too. The quality of their products is outstanding and they last for YEARS. The yacht rope lead is the best thing I have found to work with all sorts of horses, along with the knotted halter.

If you horse gets pushy, and won’t listen to you – you need to try one of these halters. You will get instant respect from your horse and YOU will be in control, not your horse. I love these halters so much, I won’t use anything else. And I know, they don’t have the same aesthetic of a traditional halter. But once you try this, I am pretty sure you will be sold on it too.

The next set I want is the rainbow halter and lead that I put pictures of. This would look so nice on Pleazant! I think I know what I’m asking for this year!
And then I will ask for this brass snap that I can attach to the lead rope.

Christmas Colors Saddle Pad Set
I LOVE my matchy matchy sets for Plezant. I love finding matchy sets so much, that when I saw this set from Equestroom, I had to have it! And if you click on the link above – you can save $15.00 on your first purchase from Equestroom! How awesome is that?!?!?
If you are looking for a matchy matchy set and ride English – you have got to check out Equestroom! I am really impressed with the quality of their products. This is the Merry Cherry set that they had, and the set I had to have. Right now they are sold out of this set, for preorders, but maybe, just maybe they will be getting more. They do have lots of other sets too! And some of them are on clearance – so you can get a deal!
This is the first saddle pad I got from them, and I love it! I think it looks very nice on Plezant too.

Total Saddle Fit Stability Stirrup Leathers
So, we are right in the middle of No Stirrups November. But that doesn’t mean you are riding completely without stirrups right? Right! And the Total Saddle Fit Stability Stirrup Leathers are wonderful, and would make a great gift for you, or your favorite equestrian.
I have had mine for a couple of years and they are just as wonderful as the first day I used them. They have held up very well to use, and abuse. They haven’t stretched at all, and they really do make a difference regarding leg stability.

These are mine, and I think you can tell they are still in great condition. The leather is soft and supple, and all of the stitching is done to last. I am so impressed with these leathers. And I prefer to use these leathers over any other that I have.
American Equus Stirrups

Alright, so these stirrups are definitely a spurge, or special purchase. But for me, they were sooooo worth it! I love the styling, but what I love even more is how they really seem to help with my leg stability. The grips also help me to keep my stirrups where they are supposed to be.

And while I can keep my stirrups easier, the stirrup doesn’t ‘lock’ my foot in one position, I can still maneuver around the stirrup. Yes, they are expensive. But if it helps you ride better, and thus encourages you to ride more, then they are definitely worth the price.
The American Equus Stirrups are my favorite find. And I am very happy with the investment!
