Summer in the Rockies Horse Show Series

I cannot believe it’s finally here! The Summer in the Rockies series of horse shows has officially kicked off! This is so exciting, and for me, it officially starts summertime in Colorado.

From June 12, 2024, through July 24, 2024, there are horse shows at the Colorado Horse Park. Color me happy!

If you have never been to a show at the horse park, let me tell you it is a great place to watch some spectacular riders and beautiful hunter/jumper horses.

From a spectator’s perspective, you could not find a better place to watch a horse show. The grounds are beautiful, the parking is free, and there is something for everyone. The Horse Park was purchased a year or two ago by a group that is part of Littleton Equine Veterinary Group. And they aren’t holding anything back this year. They have so many events planned for the series.

I think the one I am most looking forward to seeing is the groom’s classes. I have heard of these at other shows, and I haven’t seen them at the horse park. That class is happening in week 3 and will be on June 29th. After the class, they will have karaoke and snacks. I love snacks.

But that’s not all. Every Saturday, the show organizers add something a little bit extra. And on Mondays, they have outings that exhibitors can sign up for.

Shopping and a horse show? These are two of my favorite pastimes. And when you can do both at the same time, well, that is just good time management!

And it may sound silly, but I am really looking forward to checking out all of the vendors. There is just something special about going there and finding something special. It’s like a souvenir of the show.

Plan Your Day at the Horse Show

If you are thinking about heading out to one of the shows, you should check out the Langer Equestrian Groups Website and then visit Horse Shows Online to get a detailed daily schedule of the classes for the day. They break down the time, which class is in which arena, and anything special going on for the day.

This is such an organized way to be able to access all of the information you need if you’re planning on heading out to the show grounds for the day.

So, if you are looking for a horse show to visit this summer and you are in the Parker, Colorado area, I would highly recommend you come watch a show (or two!). I think you will be impressed and maybe hooked like I am! I hope to see you at the show!
