My favorite horse blogs

If you are anything like me, you are always searching the internet for blogs or articles related to horses, DIY projects or basically anything related to horses.  And sometimes just doing a google search for horse blogs will lead you down a path that ends in disappointment. You find a blog you really want to like, but they don’t post frequently, or the blog itself has ended. So I decided to share with you my favorite indulgences, or my favorite horse related blogs to visit. My favorite horse blogs are ones that have been around for awhile, and offer a lot of information. These blogs have so much information available, and the people that run them always seem to post LOTS of articles, so the information is current, and so much fun to read!

My favorite horse blogs

She Moved To Texas

This is by far my favorite blog to read through! Lauren Mauldin is the author, and she just has a way of writing that draws you in. She shares bits of her personal life, as well as some incredible photographs of horses, riding, and everyday life.  This is an incredibly enjoyable blog that you will bookmark once you have read it once!

My favorite horse blogs

Velvet Rider

Jennifer Landers writes the Velvet Rider, and I love this blog. She shares a lot of information for horse lovers. She posts product reviews, and has giveaways! We all love giveaways right?!?!? If you are looking for an equestrian related product review, this is the blog to visit. She has reviews of products I never knew existed, and based on her reviews, I have actually purchased some products. This is a really fun blog to visit?

My favorite horse blogs

Dandyism

This is a WordPress blog that I believe is run by a woman named Lauren. “A dream is a wish your heart makes.” Isn’t that beautiful? That is how she pens her blog, I love that! She shares her story with the reader, and the everyday going’s on of a life with horses. The photographs on her blog are really nice, and may motivate you to get out to your horse and ride! This is a fun blog to visit, and helped me to reflect on creating my own goals, and where I want to go with my horses.

My favorite horse blogs

Horse Nation

This blog is run by SmartPak, which is one of my favorite places to dream shop. There are a ton of articles here all related to horses and riding. They have guest posts submitted by other riders so there is always fresh content for you to devour! And once you have gone through some articles, and want to do some shopping, of course you can click on the SmartPak link on the top of the page, and shop till you drop!

My favorite horse blogs

Saddle Seeks Horse

This blog is all about horses, by an equestrian named Susan, and her horse is Knight. She has TONS of articles about horses, home, family, and everything in between! Again, there are many photographs, are you sensing a theme here…..I love photography with horses!

My favorite horse blogs

Equestrian Trend

This blog is written by a Portuguese girl Carolina Silva, who by her own account has an incredible passion for horses. She is a show jumper, and it is so much fun to read about someone who is pursuing her education, but still makes time for her passion of horses. She focuses on the trends and news of the equestrian world, as well as sharing her own personal experiences. It is interesting to see how people from around the world manage their horse lives!

My favorite horse blogs

Our First Horse

This blog is so much fun to read. It is kind of like a journal of a family who started with one horse and added to that with other horses, and even more animals! There is a lot of information in here that is applicable to anyone who has horses at home, and some very valuable lessons they have learned on their own personal journey of being horse owners at home.

My favorite horse blogs

Jump Set; Equestrian and Lifestyle

The two young women that run this blog are inspiring to say the least. They travel, show, and just have a lot of fun information on their blog. Just like The Equestrian Trend Blog, it is fascinating to view the equestrian lifestyle through the eyes of people who do not live where you do. This is a fun blog to read, and see where their adventures take them.

Horse Listening

This is a super fun website. The blog is informative, but there is just so much more! For example, if you sign up with your email, you will get a free ebook “#1 Rider Problems” and learn how to correct them, using aids, etc. This is a very informative site in which the author regularly adds new content. I love the tagline too… “Horses.Riding.Life.” That is how I look at my passions, how about you?

And there you have it, the top blogs that I frequent, and thoroughly enjoy. How about you? Do you have a favorite blog or horse related website that you visit? Please, share it with everyone below!

    • A great Roping Saddle will be functional as well as attractive. It should fit both the horse and the rider comfortably, and be strong enough to withstand the pressures of roping. While practicality is still the most important factor when choosing a roping saddle, fancy versions are becoming increasingly popular at ropings. Most saddle companies offer these fanciful options and some even offer limited editions.

It is every little girl’s dream to ride a pony, and I was lucky enough to have that dream come true. However, just before my 10th birthday, my world was turned upside down when I was diagnosed with epilepsy, and the days I used to spend at the barn quickly turned into day-after-day of recovery in bed from seizures.  While I have been fortunate enough to continue riding, for many millions of people around the world suffering from epilepsy, this is not their story. So each time I compete, I ride for them, hoping to raise awareness about their circumstances through a saddle pad. Embroidered into the saddle pad are the names of epilepsy warriors from all over the world who are losing or have lost their battle against epilepsy.  The biggest opportunity I have to make a difference, however, is coming up!
From November 1-10 Team Channing will be hosting the fifth annual Purple Raffle with all proceeds benefiting CURE Epilepsy in order to fund a $100,000 research grant (https://give.cureepilepsy.org/fundraiser/4018994) to help find a cure. This year’s raffle is honoring the animals that not just make our days but are life-changing to us. With over $10,000 (www.thepurpleraffle.com) in prizes, you can spoil your cats, dogs, and horses for a good cause!

        Hi Channing,
Epilepsy is something that a lot of people have to live with. I know, because at 17 I was diagnosed with late onset epilepsy (who knew there was such a thing) after I had a fall from my horse at 17 years old. One year to the day after my fall I had my first seizure.
I wish you the best in your fund raiser.
