Weekly Video Wrap Up
Well here we are at the end of another week! I don’t know about you, but this week was super busy for me. Maybe it’s because of all of the projects I am doing. And the weather was much warmer this week. So this week’s weekly video wrap up only has three videos. But that’s ok, at least I got three videos done for the week!
We have a lot going on at home right now. We got a new tractor, and my husband has been going crazy helping me get my riding arena in shape for the spring. I have started a new project with Ethan where I am getting him in shape for riding this summer, and I have still been building jumps. Ad of course, I had my riding lesson on Thursday. I was able to ride 3 days this week, and work with my own horses 4 days. That did put a crimp in my video production, but I am happy with three videos for the week.
I was surprised when I looked at my views this week for the videos. Apparently people really like watching packages being opened! Of the three videos I uploaded, Monday’s video was by far the most popular. So how about we go over the videos?
Monday – HUGE Horse Stuff Haul/Unboxing
This was by far the most viewed video I made this week. In fact, it has been the video with the most views for a while now. I didn’t really make the video to get views, but I guess people like watching other people open up boxes filled with horse stuff! I bought a bunch of stuff that I have been needing (wanting) for a while now. I ordered items from State Line Tack, Jeffers Equine, and Riding Warehouse and then I opened up the boxes in my video and shared with everyone what I got.
I don’t do these video’s a lot, because I don’t want to seem like I’m bragging. Does that make sense? But I do want to share with others what I buy for my horses, and explain why I bought what I did. Hopefully it might help someone else if they are looking at stuff to purchase from these online retailers.
Wednesday – How To Build Boxes For Horse Jump Fillers
Now this video was one I had a lot of fun making, and I was excited to share with you. I also wrote a blog post explaining how to build these boxes. And I am so happy with how they turned out! These boxes were so easy to make. And the best part was, I made them for practically no cost! So not only was I able to make some cool brick boxes for my horse jumps, but I did it for free! I love free!
It didn’t take a lot of time either. I had been thinking about building these for a couple of weeks, and last weekend I built them.
I used supplies and materials that I already had. And while my husband was playing with his tractor, I decided to make use of my time outside, and build some boxes. I was able to make these in just one weekend. I also made a second pair of the boxes, because I want to make an aqueduct style box too. (That will be coming soon!)
I also wanted to make these boxes to match the brick wing standards I made a month ago, because that was what I was planning on using for my jump of the month for March. Like I said before, I am really happy with how these turned out, and now I have yet another jump component to use for when my riding arena is finished!
If you like these DIY type videos, I promise there are more to come! This is what I do. I always have ideas dancing around my mind of how to craft my own horse jumps, and the ideas won’t leave until I make them. So yes, there will be lots more diy horse jump videos in the future!
Friday – Riding Lesson Tips – Don’t Put Yourself Down
This video meant a lot to me to make. Because sometimes when I am riding, and I do something wrong I put myself down, out loud. And a few lesson’s back the riding instructor I was riding with taught me an important lesson. And I wanted to share it with you, in case you ever have those moments. Don’t focus on the bad, or what you did wrong. Instead, be sure to praise yourself for what you did right!
Coming Up Next Week…
I already have a few videos recorded, and I just have to edit them for this upcoming week. I knew the day would be coming where I would be too busy to keep up my pace of 4 or 5 videos a week. And I am ok with that, because when the weather is good, it’s time to be outside, and stay busy! And since it is light out later now, soon I will be able to share videos of me riding, and perhaps even jumping with my own horses.
I know I will have at least 3 videos for the week, maybe more depending on how the weather is this week, and on how many blog posts I am able to produce for my blog. I have been wanting to film a tribute style video to Evention, remember Evention? So I think that will be coming up sometime soon. I wish they still had new videos coming out. I love their YouTube channel.
But I have a lot of ideas still milling around in my head about different horse jumps, and things to do with your horse in anticipation of the wonderful months of summer coming up. And hopefully, I will have lots to share with you of different things you can make, and do, with your own horse this summer!
