weekly video recap

Weekly Video Recap

I don’t know how I was able to do it, but it happened. I completed 5 videos for my YouTube channel this week, AND a collaboration video for another YouTube channel this week. And I haven’t done a weekly video recap in a while, so I thought since this was a great week for uploading, I would share it!

I already had filmed 2 of the video’s and just needed to get them edited and put up. And two of the videos were easy, because they were just little tips on things I picked up during my weekly riding lessons. And of course, I am still plugging away at building some jumps, so those videos are still in the process of being completed as well.

So how about we get to the videos for this week?

Riding Warehouse Equestrian Haul

A little while ago, I got a gift card from Riding Warehouse, and I decided to share what I was able to buy. It isn’t a lot, but I got some nice things from Riding Warehouse. I love Riding Warehouse! I love to shop, especially when it comes to things I can use with my horses.

No More Heart To Horse Unboxing Videos

This video was a little bittersweet to make. I have decided not to get the Heart To Horse Box any more. And while I do love getting surprises in the mail every month, I have other things to spend my money on. Things that will help further my riding, like my lessons. And the boxes have been ok, but I have a lot of horse crap, and I am trying to lessen the clutter that I have. So sorry Heart To Horse Box, but it’s time to stop.

I think it is a great subscription box once in a while, but I just wasn’t seeing the value of it enough to justify the money each month. And the $35.00 a month will help pay for my riding lessons which I have gotten a lot more value from. So hello riding lessons, goodbye Heart To Horse Box.

3 Tips To Get Noticed By The Judge, In A Good Way

I had so much fun with this video, and I didn’t have to do any of the work! A big thank you to Laura Kellend-May for helping me to complete my first ever collaboration video. Laura is SO smart! She gave some fantastic tips for those of us who are playing with the idea of going to a horse show. If you are considering showing in the Hunter Jumper world, you should consider subscribing to Laura’s YouTube channel. She shares her experience as a judge with everyone, and really makes you think about things from the perspective of the judge.

Horse Showing On A Budget

And since I got to have Laura do a video for me, I also got to make a video for her and her channel. This was so much fun to make. What I did was go to the dollar store and try and find things that I could take to the horse show. And while they didn’t have saddles or tack for a dollar, (bummer) I was able to find a lot of different things that will help make it easier at the horse show, or to get ready for a show.

And making this video got me thinking, I wonder if I could put together a show outfit from a thrift store? So look for that video in the future!

How To Choose A Riding Instructor

And I got the idea of different tips I could share with others about the experiences I have thought about with the weekly riding lessons I am taking. These tips aren’t meant to be long videos, but little tidbits of information that might be helpful to you, if you are thinking about taking riding lessons. Or if you can’t afford to do lessons, maybe you could take some of these tips out with you when you are riding your horse? I don’t know, but I wanted to offer tips for others. Things I have thought about, or struggled with. And after I learn how to do it, I love to be able to share that information with others.

So this is just a little video of how to go about finding an instructor you mesh with, so you can make the most of your lessons.

Making The Most Of Your Riding Lessons

Here are just a few little tips to help you make the most of your time at your riding lesson. It may seem like a no brainer, but getting to your lesson a little bit early is a good idea. Being ready to ride when your lesson time starts gives you more time in the saddle. Hopefully these tips will help someone else. And I find that it helps solidify what I have learned in my own head to relive it, think about it a few more times.

I have just learned so much in the few short weeks with my riding lessons, I really wanted to share with you things that I have learned. I know these little video’s aren’t what I typically do, but they might be helpful for you, so I am going to keep on doing them, because I like it!

Coming Up Next Week

I don’t know if I can keep up the momentum of 5 or 6 videos every week, but I do have a plan for the next 2 weeks or so with about 5 videos each week, including Riding Lesson Tips. And I am pretty excited about the horse jump I have been building right now. It only has 3 rails, but with those 3 rails, I have 6 different jumps I can make. And I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for different ideas for jumps. So being able to make 6 different types of jumps with just 3 rails, well that’s a good thing!

So hopefully, I will have a huge weekly video recap for you next week. And in the mean time, I would love to have you subscribe to my YouTube channel. Right now I have 315 videos for you to watch, and many, many more to come in the next several months!
