Well, it is just about here…..No Stirrups November! Can you believe it?!?!? I can’t! It seems like just yesterday I was completing last years challenges! And I have learned a lot over the past couple of years y competing against myself in these type of challenges. As well as pushing myself really hard in my own challenges that I make for myself, and then share with you.

And this year is going to be different, because of several reasons…..
No Stirrups November Is Almost Here
The biggest change in this challenge is that Chronicle of the Horse will not be putting on a challenge. I was really sad when I found out. But I can understand. It is a big undertaking to run a challenge like this, especially when it is done as an ‘extra’ or a really cool service for all of us equestrians. So, I understand.
The second reason this will be a different challenge is because I have learned that I don’t have to push myself. I don’t have to ride every other day. And I am only competing against myself. If you read my post about the September challenge, you probably know I had a few ‘a-ha’ moments for myself. And I realized it’s not the quantity, but more importantly the quality of the time I spend on my horse. If it stops being fun, what’s the point right?

So this year, I am putting the emphasis on fun time with Plezant. And just enjoying the time I have with him.
And the third and final reason this year’s challenge will be different is because I am going to host a No Stirrups November challenge! Yes! The Budget Equestrian will be having a No Stirrups November challenge! Yes, with ribbons and everything!

I am so excited! Are you up for it?
The Budget Equestrian No Stirrups November Challenge
I have been planning this for quite a while now. And my September challenge was a practice session. But November will be the big time.
The challenge will be fun – I promise! And is open to anyone who wants to participate. Over the years, I have learned a lot from participating in these challenges, so I think I have a good plan figured out. So that everyone will be able to have fun, learn, and maybe even get some stronger and more stable legs out of the process!
Have you ever participated in a No Stirrups November? If you haven’t, let me tell you – it is a LOT of fun! In the past I have joined several challenges, mainly because I want the ribbon at the end of the challenge! But during the process of working through it, I gain so much more. I spend a lot more time with my horse, I have a goal to focus on. And my legs, as well as my balance really do improve from taking the time to really focus on it.
It really is a win, win, win! It also gives me something to look forward to when the days are super short, and cold. So that is a bonus.

The challenge will begin November 1st. I will have a calendar for you to mark up, as well as a private Facebook group for those so inclined to publish their photos or thoughts.
I have a few surprises along the way for you too! And of course – the ribbon – we can’t leave out the ribbon! Everyone who completes the challenge will receive a ribbon! And I am even working on getting some prizes. I mean you can’t have a challenge without the prizes, right? I am looking for sponsors for prizes as I write this. And if you have a company that would like to donate a prize for these hard working equestrians – please reach out, I would love to talk to you.
The Budget Equestrian No Stirrups November Challenge
The target goal for the challenge is 10 rides. So if you can commit to riding your horse 10 times during the month of November, and enter the challenge you will get a ribbon. And not only that, but I will be sharing some tips with you the entire month of November to help keep you motivated and working through the challenge!

Are you in? I hope so! The complete challenge will be published on October 25, 2021. So be sure to subscribe to my email list so you will be alerted when all of the details are available. And if you were looking forward to Chronicle of the Horse’s challenge – please consider doing mine this year! I know Vickie and Lynda are already in, how about you? Come join us! It will be LOTS of fun!

I am very interested in doing this! How do we subscribe?
Hi Becki!
There should be a pop op window when you visit my website that you enter your email address and then you will be notified when I have a new blog post come out. Once you have subscribed you should be receiving emails every time a new post comes out. If the pop up doesn’t show up, don’t worry – just come back after October 25th, and you can see the posts 🙂
I would love to take part too, I’ve never done it before so thank you for hosting! I look forward to getting started! I’m assuming all the details will be posted tomorrow about the Facebook group too? 🙂
