Heart To Horse Box Review
Every month I treat myself (and my horses) to a surprise box. I have been a subscriber to The Heart To Horse box for almost 2 years now. And I have to tell you, it is really fun to have a surprise box come in the mail every month.
If you have never heard of The Heart To Horse Box, you might be wondering what it is. And with all of the different subscription boxes you can sign up for, I thought I would give you a review of what comes inside this box, for the month of July.
What’s Inside
Each month the people who create the Heart To Horse box seem to pack it full of different items that you can use on your horse. Sometimes they send things for the horse owner too. I have only had one or two boxes that were disappointing. But I would have to say overall, the box delivers a good value on items I do use every single month.
And sometimes, they even send a product I end up purchasing again, because I end up liking it so much. Out of all of the boxes I have gotten, the one that made the biggest impression on me was last September. The box was full of Professional’s Choice items. I did a review of that box, which you can read here. I am already looking forward to what the September box for this year holds!
The box costs around $32.00 a month. Which seems pretty fair for the value of what you get. And if you sign up for their autoship program, you can get a 10% discount. They also ship the box to you for free.
July Heart To Horse Box
So now let’s get into the July 2017 Heart To Horse Box!
Kensington Fly Mask With Ears ($26.99)
What a perfect item to include in this months box! And Ethan was in need of a new fly mask, so for me this was great. The fly mask seems pretty heavy duty, and I love the color. It is easy to put on, and the fleece around the face means it is soft on my horse’s face. So there are no pressure points. And the material on the ears is great. It seems really heavy duty, so hopefully no ears will be poking through.
I put this on Ethan today after opening the box, and even though he is Houdini, he was not able to get it off. So hopefully I will have a fly mask he can actually keep on.
Farnam Bronco Fly Spray ($6.75)
If I am needing some fly spray in a hurry, I will usually run to the store and by Bronco, because it is the cheapest. It isn’t the longest lasting, but it does work. So this will definitely get used up.
Mane ‘N Tail Hoofmaker ($3.07)
This is a great product. It helps to add moisture to your horses hooves, and you can even use it on your own skin, like lotion. But this is more than just a lotion. It is rich, and nourishing.
And if you are wanting your own nails to grow healthy and strong, rub this into them. Your nails will be strong, and grow fast too.
Cowboy Magic Detangler and Shine ($7.57)
I love this stuff. I found out about it on accident really. I found a bottle of it on my road, it must have fallen out of someone’s trailer. And since then, I have been hooked! If you truly want to have a tangle free mane and tail, you need to use this stuff. A little bit goes a long way, and this 4 ounce bottle will probably last me well into the new year.
You just rub a little bit between your hands and apply to your horse’s tail. You don’t even have to wait to brush it through. You will be impressed at how your brush glides through the tail. And your horse will only have minimal hair loss. This is a big deal when your horse has a super thin and fine tail like Frisby.
Bonus Fly Spray (Free)
This fly spray is pretty good. I have not been impressed by Manna Pro’s regular fly spray, but this stuff seems to work pretty well. You can use it on your horses, as well as using it as a perimeter spray. That’s how I used it. Once I was done cleaning stalls, I sprayed it around the perimeter of the stalls. It seemed to help pretty well.
I will have to use it a little bit more to see if this is something I would buy again, but so far it seems to work well.
Overall Value of July Heart To Horse Box: $44.38
So the box cost me around $32.00, and it’s value is $44.38. And this takes into account if I were to buy these items on State Line Tack’s website. And if you include the shipping, it would have cost me $51.37 for these items. That saved me just about $20.00 by getting them through the subscription box.
I love a great deal, and surprises. So I think the Heart To Horse Box is worth the cost every month. You get a nice surprise, and the opportunity to try products you may not have considered.
Like I said in the beginning, there have only been a couple of boxes that I didn’t feel were worth it. But overall, I have been really happy with The Heart To Horse Box, and I will continue my subscription for probably a long time to come.
