It’s Horse Show Season In Colorado

New Rules On Spectators At Horse Shows This Summer

It’s The Most Wonderful Tim Of The Year

it's horse show season

While some will argue with me that the most wonderful time of the year is Christmas time, this is my most favorite time of the year. This is the kick off week for Summer in the Rockies at the Colorado Horse Park. And although I am not a competitor, I am a fierce spectator. And since I am not allowed to ride my own horses currently. I am living vivaciously through the Grand Prix riders at the Horse Park.

It's Horse Show Season

The Colorado Horse Park is about 20 minutes away from my home. So my horse BFF Lynda and I have a date every Saturday afternoon for the first 7 weeks of summer to go to said horse park, and drool over the show jumpers. The funniest thing about this is, Lynda doesn’t even ride English. She is a western gal, but I am slowly converting her to at least consider hunter/jumpers.  And every summer we go to the horse park and become horse show groupies.

It’s horse show season in Colorado, and I am lucky enough to live close to one of the best show venues around.

And one of my favorite things to do at these shows is capture moments.  I always have my camera in hand, especially when it comes to the International arena, where the Grand Prix takes place.

Dream Big

I get so excited for this time of year. One day I honestly hope to be able to be a competitor. But showing at this series of shows is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. And if I have hopes of competing at this level, it will take some serious cash. Regardless though, this is where I want to be. One day it will happen. But for now, I use this time to motivate me and push me toward my goal of one day competing with these incredible equestrians.

It's Horse Show Season

So there aren’t a lot of words to accompany this blog post, because I wanted to fill it with my favorite pictures from the Grand Prix this week.

I love this venue. And I love that for 7 weeks of the summer I can be a spectator at such a beautiful facility. If you live anywhere close to the Colorado Horse Park, and you love horse shows as much as I do, you should come and watch! Who know’s, maybe we will meet at the horse park, and you can join Lynda and I as horse show groupies.
