Introduction to VEDA

For those of you who only follow my blog, I also have a YouTube channel where I uploads lots of videos on my shenanigans with the different things I do with my horses, and a bunch of DIY ideas I have. If you like that kind of thing, you should check out my channel. (Shameless plug) And today is the first day of VEDA. So I thought I would give a brief introduction to VEDA, and share with you how I plan on getting through the next 30 days.

For the next 30 days, my YouTube channel is going to undergo a bit of a change. I have signed up for a challenge, I love challenges! And this challenge is called VEDA. What does VEDA stand for?

  • V – Vlog
  • E – Every
  • D – Day (in)
  • A – April

So that means I am going to be uploading a video, every single day, for the month of April! And I thought writing a blog every day for 30 days was a challenge! I am a little nervous about the daily video thing, but why not? I have a ton of stuff I can talk about!

But I thought I would up the challenge a little bit more…

To go along with the 30 day vlog challenge, I am also going to post an article every day on my blog. No pressure. The last time I did the 30 days of blogging, I was able to complete it, but it wasn’t 30 days in a row. I will do this 30 days in a row this time! Challenge accepted!

The blog posts may be short, or long. I guess each day will tell how it goes. But I have figured a few ways that I can be successful with this:

Have a Plan

By having a plan and creating a list of topics, I already know what I am going to be writing about, and what my topic for my video will be for the day. I don’t have to struggle with ideas of what to talk about. This was the first step, and I can happily report I have 30 different ideas for articles, as well as videos.

Keep the Blog Short

When I start to write, I just let the words flow. Sometimes they make sense, sometimes they don’t. But just with the simple act of writing, I can go back and edit later. It is simply getting started that is usually the most difficult part. And by simply writing, I can edit the not so important parts, and focus on the main idea of the blog (article).

Focus on Something I LOVE to Talk About

By staying focused on something I love (mainly horses) I find it easier to write. I can write for hours about diy projects, setting goals, and making lists, all related to horses.

Join a Group for Accountability

This was a hard part for me. Mainly because if I join in with others who are doing this challenge, I have to do it! So I committed myself, and I did it. I joined Amy Schmittauer’s group over on Savvy Sexy Social for the VEDA challenge. But not only did I join the group, I also have been interacting with my fellow challengees to support them in their challenge journey too. If we all get through the next 30 days, I think we all deserve a ribbon, or a big piece of chocolate cake as a reward!

Take it one day at a time

I need to stay focused on each day, and not get carried away thinking “what am I going to post next week?” No! Just taking it one day at a time. I have my plan in place, and I just need to stick to it.

How about you? Have you ever decided to participate in a challenge like this? Would you consider it? If you are thinking about having a YouTube channel, you might want to consider it. If you think you would like to give it a go, you can sign up over at Savvy Sexy Social.

Until tomorrow, stay passionate, and enjoy YOUR ride!
