Real World Review
I have a great new product I wanted to share with you, I was lucky enough for Riding Warehouse to reach out to me and ask me to give my honest thoughts on a new riding tight that they are offering from Horze. These riding tights are called The Juliet HyPer Flex full seat tights and I have had them for about a month now so I can share with you my honest opinion of how great these tights really are.
Horze Juliet HyPer Flex Full Seat Tights
First, let me share with you the description of the tights from Riding Warehouses product listing:
“The Juliet HyPer Flex Full Seat Tights by Horze offer the rider unlimited mobility and comfort in the irons so they can perform at their best. Ideal for daily schooling or casual rides, these trendy tights have the feel of your favorite yoga pants with a wide and comfortable waistband that won’t bind, bunch, or leave marks on your skin. A full silicone seat provides a non-slip grip, no matter how wild the ride becomes, while the durable nylon blend fabric is stain resistant to take the rigors of a long day at the barn. Breathable, comfortable, and easy to care for, the Juliet is sure to be the tight you turn to for all your casual riding!”
Features:
- Silicone- Print Full Seat Tights
- Comfortable & Breathable
- Trendy Tights with Wide Waistband
- Easy to Care for with Stain Resistant Material
This is directly from their website. And this sounds great right? So I have been wearing these tights for most of my weekly riding lessons as of late, and I have also been wearing them at home while I am working with my own horses.
The tights come in sizes xs through xxl and on Riding Warehouses website they come in black, grey, and green. I got them in black, because black goes with everything, right?
The Construction
And my honest opinion of these tights is they are fantastic! I love the wide waistband. And when they say they are like yoga pants, they mean it, including the waistband. And this may not seem like a big deal for some, but for me, and with my abdominal stuff I have had going on lately, having a comfortable and stretchy waistband is an important aspect of anything I wear.
The leg openings have elastic around them with just enough stretch to keep the legs down, but they are also easy to put on and take off. They are a full seat tight, meaning there is some added ‘stick’ when you are in the saddle.
True Test
They are incredibly comfortable while you are n the saddle or working on the ground. The material has a stretch to it which helps to give support everywhere, legs, thighs, tummy….everywhere! And they have a silicone pattern imprint on the seat as well as the legs.
The silicone has a slightly tacky feel to it and this helps to give a little stickiness. This helps to give a little extra security while you are riding. I have ridden in my synthetic saddle as well as my leather one and the extra grip seems to work just as well with both saddles. And while they add some ‘stick’ in the saddle, the tights don’t restrict you in any way.
These tights have become my favorite to wear while I am riding at my lessons, and at home. And they are comfortable enough that I can do ground work as well.
Easy Care Riding Tights
And once you are done riding, you turn them inside out, throw them in the wash and then hang them up to dry. They dry really fast, even in humid weather. I washed them on a rainy morning and then hung them over a banister, and a few hours later they were dry and ready to be worn again! Whatever the fabric is, is washes very well and dries quickly. There are no wrinkles in the fabric once they have been washed. And they stay soft without any added fabric softeners. In fact, on the label it tells you not to use fabric softeners. I think it might effect the stickiness of the silicone? But I don’t want to test my theory on this, and I just don’t use a fabric softener.
And they look great, and I don’t feel self-conscious of how I look in the tights. Yes, they are tights so they are a little different than breeches because they conform to every part of your leg, stomach and rear end. But, I don’t feel like they do. Maybe it’s because I got them in black? I don’t know. But what I do know is these are my go to tights for riding.
Final Thoughts
I honestly did prefer regular breeches to tights, but that’s before I tried these tights. They are so comfortable and are constructed really well. I like these for schooling and working with my horses more than I like my regular breeches now. I like them so much that I think I am going to buy a grey pair too! And they are affordable at $59.95 from Riding Warehouse.
So if you are looking for an affordable lightweight tight to wear this summer I would really encourage you to consider these tights. They are a great option, and I think if you try them, you will be glad you did!
