I Wrote a Book (Again)
I love to write. To me that is a pretty obvious statement. In the past 2 years I have written a few books, and over 300 blog posts, between what I have here and over on my husband’s blog. And I am passionate about horse’s and DIY projects. And when I come up with a really cool DIY I want to share it with others, so I write about it.
One thing that happens when you write a lot is you get better at it. And with all the writing I have been doing, I think I have gotten better. Which is why I wrote yet another book. And this one is a lot more compressed, focusing on the important aspects and none of the fluff when it comes to building horse jumps.
The biggest reason I wanted to write this book is that I wanted to grow my list of e-mail subscribers. And I wanted to be able to give something away, in exchange for your email. Well, my idea of a 2 page PDF quickly turned into a 30 page book. I know, 30 pages does not sound like staying focused on the important steps right? But I promise, the book will walk you through step by step of how to build your first horse jump, without a lot of fluff filler words!
How To Build A Simple Horse Jump
Building horse jumps can seem difficult, especially when you aren’t really sure of what you need, or how to get started.
So I broke the process down. I did start with the hardest part, the standards. But my thinking was once you have the standards mastered, it is simple to create the rails, and make something personalized. And the more you build, the better you will be at it.
And when you get to the end of the process, when you are assembling the jump that you made, it just gets really exciting!
Building A Better Horse Jump
I have done all the homework for you. I have made the mistakes, created jumps that don’t really work, or spent too much money in the process. And since I have made the mistakes, I have also learned what works. This way, I save you the work, and you can get right to building a fantastic jump that you are proud of.
I have learned the cheapest way to make the jumps, and the best paints to use to make your jumps last longer. I also share some of the mistakes I have made, so you don’t have to make them.
Learn How To Build A Horse Jump
Sometimes you just need to know how you can build a horse jump. And in this short little book, I share with you exactly how to build a jump. I break down what you will need including supplies and tools and then break down the steps of how to build the jump.
The biggest takeaway I want to give you is that it is easy to build horse jumps! You don’t need to get really fancy, you just need the basic components of the jump, you can get fancy later on.
If you dedicated 5 days to building jumps, or a little over 2 weekends, you can create a complete course of jumps that you will be proud to jump over. Seriously, it’s that easy. And after building the jump standards, most of that time is dedicated to dry time for your painting.
Let me give you an example,
- Day 1: Gather your materials and supplies, and cut out your wood.
- Day 2: Assemble your jump standards prime, and paint. Sand and prime your rails
- Day 3: Finish paint your standards and rails
- Day 4: Stripe your rails
- Day 5: Touch up, allow to dry and then remove all taping.
This is just one way to do it, you can do whatever works best for you. But I just wanted to give you an idea of how you can make this happen. The hardest part of this project is starting, but once you commit yourself to it, you will be so happy you did!
Save Money By Building Your Own Jumps
Have you ever looked at how much ready made jumps cost? I bet you have. They are SO expensive! With this guide, you can build a complete course of jumps and it will probably cost less than buying ONE ready made jump.
With my instructions, you can build a complete horse jump for about $30.00. Add in the paint and you are looking at about $40.00 per jump. All you have to do is invest some of your time, and you can create affordable horse jumps.
How To Get The Free Book
