Budget Equestrian Weekly Video Recap
I was really slacking this week. I was only able to get 2 videos edited and uploaded for the week. I did make more, but I have decided that I want to focus a little more on my blog, and also on a project of writing a book. And with trying to film, edit, and manage 3 videos a week, I am struggling. I just don’t have enough time in each day to get everything done that I want to.
So I have decided I am going to dedicate more time to my writing, for a while. I will still be uploading videos, because I love it, but until I get this book out of my head and onto ‘paper’, that is where I will be spending the majority of my time. Have you ever written a book? Or I should say, have you ever had the idea to write a book? It takes time and consumes all of my thoughts.
So instead of dwelling on that, let’s go over the 2 videos I was able to publish this week.
Big Goals For The Budget Equestrian
Remember about a month ago when I wrote about this? That is how long it has taken me to get the video up! But this is the main reason I am wanting to focus more on crafting a book. I want to share with you, and the world how to make a very nice set of jumps for not a lot of money. And by having a goal, this is how I keep my focus and stay motivated to make that happen.
I have had a lot of people comment on the video letting me know their thoughts on my goal, and that’s fine. They are entitled to their opinions, as I am entitled to mine. Which is why I made the video, and my goal, for my own personal reasons.
I have learned that I am better motivated when I have a goal to focus on, and when I do, it consumes me until I get it done. And I have also learned that in order to be truly happy, I need to do what I need to do, not what someone else thinks I should be doing. So if someone doesn’t think I should buy a Brenderup trailer, that’s ok, but I am going to do what’s right for me.
Let’s Decorate For Christmas Vlog
I had so much fun making this video. My daughter was home from college, my son and his girlfriend came home too. And we had an incredible Thanksgiving with all of our children and my parents.

It was just such a great holiday, and the weekend was just as good. It was beautiful outside, and perfect weather for decorating!

And I don’t have a lot of fancy decorations, but I do have lots of memories behind the decorations that I do have. I think this makes the holiday even more special and memorable.

I don’t know why, but for some reason this year I have finally realized that the holidays aren’t about buying stuff, and giving stuff to people. But it is about the precious time I have with those whom I love, my animals included.

I didn’t ride over the long weekend, but I did just spend time with my horses. And Ethan is such a loving horse, I am so grateful I have him, along with Frisby. And this past holiday and weekend, it wasn’t about riding, or getting Ethan to tuck his head or pick up the correct lead. It was about being with those that are the most important in my life, and I would not have changed that for anything.
Upcoming Videos
Even though I would love to have enough time to complete 3 videos a week, I think I am going to revisit that. I know I can do at least one video a week, but I am not going to hold myself to that for now. Right now my focus is on getting these jumps built, and getting this book out of my head! Hopefully this will be helpful to those who want to build their own jumps, or come up with some new ideas for the jumps they already have. However it plays out, I will be posting more videos of how I am building these jumps.
I have even played with the idea of creating a course on jump building. I know I would have loved to have a video course of someone showing me step by step how to do it. It would have saved me hundreds of hours of coming up with a straightforward plan on how to make it happen. Maybe that would be helpful for other too? I don’t know if I will be able to do it, but I think it’s worth a try, what do you think?
