Last Minute Gift Ideas
Well the count down to Christmas is here! It is December 19, so we have 6 days left before Christmas is here. That means if you haven’t finished (or started) your shopping, now is the time to get shopping! And to go along with this, I thought it would be fun to give you a few last minute gift ideas for equestrians, or anyone for that matter.
Most if these items I found on Amazon. And the reason I went to Amazon first was because I have a prime membership. By having this type of membership with Amazon, they offer free two day shipping. And right now, this is a very good thing. But you can find these items locally, as well as on other shopping websites.
So lets get started!
Illuminated Hoof Pick

I love this illuminated hoof pick! This thing is so cool! There is an LED light at the end of the hoof pick, so when you use it, the hoof will light up. Not only is this great if you are trying to pick your horses hooves in the dark aisle of a barn, but it also lights up the hoof area. So you have a light to light up the hoof area. If you want to make sure your horse’s hooves are good and clean, as well as looking for any debris, this little tool will really help. And it also has my favorite component of a hoof pick, a brush. You can find it on Amazon from the link above.
Car Magnet

This is so much fun. I have seen stickers for your car, but how about an equestrian car magnet? You can put it on your car, and then move it to your horse trailer! And this magnet comes in lots of different colors. So you can find a magnet that shows your favorite riding discipline as well as your favorite color. And it’s a great stocking stuffer that is affordable at only $7.99.
SSG gloves

SSG gloves have become my favorite. They have so many different styles, and the are pretty sturdy. I found this brand by chance a few years back at Dover’s, and they wear so well, I keep going back to them. These are really well made gloves for the price.
Ear Warmer

I was introduced to an ear warmer band a few years ago when I got one in a Heart To Horse Box. And ever since then, I have been sold. My ears get cold easily when I have my hair pulled back, and this little tool works great. It isn’t bulky, so you can wear it under your riding helmet. And it’s comfortable. You can wear it like a headband to keep your hair out of your face and your ears warm while you are doing barn chores. I was able to find one at Goodwill, it was brand new and only cost $3.99. They do have them on Amazon, but they are really expensive. So I would check locally if you would like to find one of these to fill a stocking.
Polarized Sunglasses

When I wear my contacts, I really need to wear sunglasses, especially when I am riding. And I found these polarized sunglasses on Amazon. Not only are they bendy, and look cool, but you can change out the lens. It comes with 5 different lenses! And being flexible, they conform to your face, and hopefully will be sturdy while riding.
Headlamp

A headlamp is a fantastic gift idea for equestrians. You can do so much with it, especially when the days get shorter, like now. I really like this style of headlamp because it has rechargeable batteries that you can recharge. No more replacing batteries!
Lip balm (Burt Bees)

Who doesn’t love lip balm? And there are hundreds of different lip balms available today. I have made my own before, and while it was ok, I wasn’t able to perfect the recipe. SO it never felt quite like the lip balm already made. Burt Bees is probably my most favorite lip balm. And I found this awesome little collection of Burt Bees lip balm on Amazon for $8.07! Just about $2 a container, but it is so worth it.
Heavy Body Cream

In Colorado, the winter weather is very dry. Which means I use a lot of lotion. I have found the Bath and Body Works cream to be very nice. They always have deals online, so you really don’t ever have to pay full price. And right now they have some incredible deals because of Christmas. And most malls have a Bath and Body Works store, so you don’t have to wait to have this shipped to you. You can go to the mall today and buy what you want. But you will probably have to be shopping with a lot of people, so be prepared!
Peppermint Candies or Peppermint Candy Canes
I love peppermint. Maybe it’s because my horse’s love the little candies, or because it reminds me of Christmas. But whatever the case, you can never go wrong with filling a stocking with peppermints for a horse lover. After Christmas, I always look for the sales and stock up on the peppermint treasures so I can use them in my homemade horse treat recipes.
Zocks Riding Socks

They have made tall boot socks so much fun now. I am working on a pretty good collection of boot socks because of it. And Zocks boot socks have lots of fun patterns! These aren’t reserved solely for equestrians either. If you wear tall boots of any kind, you will find boot socks are a blessing. And Zocks are fun! So many patterns to choose from!
Mountable Video Camera

Technology has come so far nowadays. I remember when the Go-Pro came out, and how expensive it was. I had always wanted one, but it was way out of my price range. Not anymore though! I found this mountable video camera on Amazon for $42.00! And it has all of the attachments so you can mount this little camera anywhere! I don’t use mine as much as I should, but I hope to this next year. But if you are looking for a nice gift for someone, and they ride, this would be a great gift.
Sony Digital Camera

A digital camera is a fantastic gift or stocking stuffer. And there are some really nice point and shoot cameras for less than $100.00 I found the Sony digital camera with 20.1 megapixels for $88.00! When it comes to digital cameras, I would not go with the off brands, stick with the known. Sony, Nikon, or Canon are all great cameras which perform well and are easy to use. Is your favorite equestrian entering a lot of online horse shows? This would be a great gift to help them in their journey.
Mrs. Pastures Horse Treats

Equestrians love giving treats to horses. SO why not give them some horse treats to share with their favorite horses? It’s a gift that keeps on giving! And the Mrs. Pastures horse treats in a stocking are an affordable option for the holidays.
Fancy Browband

And finally, the last gift idea. A fancy browband. This is not cheap, but it is beautiful. They come in brown and black leather and have different colors to choose from. It might be a little late to get it before Christmas, but if you have a local Dover’s store, you may be able to get a great last minute gift that will really be a winner on Christmas morning.
Well, there you have it! 14 different last minute gift ideas for equestrians! I made a video talking about these as stocking stuffers, and then I thought they would also just make great gifts. You still have time to get that perfect gift for your someone special! And hopefully these will give you some ideas of what you could do for your favorite equestrian.
