Weekly Video Wrap Up
It’s that time again, time for a weekly video wrap up! I was not able to get 5 videos up this week, but I did get 4. Last weekend for some reason I wasn’t feeling well. And when I should have been editing a video, I was in bed, resting. I hate feeling sick.
Thankfully it was short lived, and by Monday afternoon I was feeling much better. But I did not have the motivation the rest of the week to get the last video edited. But that’s ok, it gives me a head start for this week!
And I am excited to let you all know that thanks to YOU, I have reached 7000 subscribers on YouTube! Oh my goodness! Thank you! I never thought I would have so many people who wanted to watch the videos I have made, I am just so grateful to each and every person who decided to click that subscribe button, so again, thank you.
So how about we go over the videos I made this past week? You can watch them in this post, or you can go over to my YouTube channel, The Budget Equestrian and binge watch some videos. Right now I have 325 listed that you can watch!
I Wrote A Book! (Again)
If you follow my blog, you already knew this. But I wanted to share this with as many people as I could, so I made a quick little video talking about the latest book that I wrote, How To Build A Simple Horse Jump.
This book means a lot to me. Yes, it started out as a blog post, but some 30 pages later, I decided to turn it into a book. It is really simple to build a jump, and I wanted to share with you how you can do it too.
Riding Lesson Tips – Arena Etiquette
This video is another in my series of Riding Lesson Tips (RLT Series) And they are just little tips that I have learned while taking my own riding lessons. And proper arena etiquette was something I never really thought about while I was riding my horses at home. But, when you are riding in a public arena, it’s very important for safety.
Some people have shared with me that where they live, they pass right shoulder to right shoulder, instead of left shoulder to left shoulder. Maybe this is because of the country they live in? I don’t know, but where I live my instructor has instilled in me you pass left shoulder to left shoulder. So hopefully this little tip will help someone else.
Riding Lesson Tips – What To Do When You Feel Anxious
This tip means a lot to me. Especially when my instructor has me do something I get nervous about. This is probably the most useful piece of advice she has given me so far, and I use it all the time now! When you feel nervous while riding, take a deep breath and sit tall. Don’t hunch up, and think small, think tall. It really does work!
How To Build Solid Wing Standards For Horse Jumps
This video has been a long time coming, over 6 months to be exact. I started building these wings with a project in mind last year, and they have been sitting in my garage taking up space. And while I didn’t finish them how I had intended, I finally did finish them! And I made these standards with left over materials I already had, so they didn’t cost very much money to make at all.
Next week I have a plan to show you how to faux paint them. I am excited to share with you the final product, and I hope you will enjoy this too!
I wanted to make this video to show you that you can make fancy standards yourself, inexpensively. You don’t have to spend over $400.00 for a pair of solid wing standards. You can make them yourself, and have a beautiful piece of jump equipment that won’t cost very much money.
What’s Coming Up
I love having a plan, it gives me purpose, so I wanted to share with you what to look forward to next week in my weekly videos. We will see if I get them done as I intend too, but time will tell if it happens! Hopefully, these will be the videos coming this next week:
- Monday- Saddle Box and Giveaway
- Tuesday- Shedding Tips
- Wednesday- Faux Painting Solid Wing Standards
- Thursday- Best Grooming Tote Ever
- Friday- Riding Lesson Tips (Don’t Grip With Your Knees!)
I know, it’s a lofty goal, but I am confident I an get it done. And with that, I will leave you to look through my videos, or past blog posts, because I have to get to work and go film some new videos!
And as always, stay passionate, and enjoy your ride!
