Budget Equestrian Weekly Video Recap

I have been thinking about doing this for awhile now, so I finally have gotten myself together enough to sit down and do it. I’m not sure if you know that I have been working really hard to upload at least 3 videos each week on my YouTube channel, The Budget Equestrian. And I am very proud to say I have consistently been uploading new videos every week for the past year, even though it seems longer than that.  And just in case you have a life, and weren’t able to watch all of the videos I have created. I have decided to start sharing those videos with you here. So here it is, my first ever Budget Equestrian weekly video recap. I hope you like it!

So these are the videos  I released for the week of September 11 through September 15, 2017. And just in case you were wondering, so far I have over 260 videos uploaded to YouTube. That is a LOT of horse related videos! If you haven’t seen them, please check them out!

How To Turn Out Stirrups Of A Western Saddle

I started off the week showing you how to save your knees while riding western. With my English saddle, I have MDC stirrups which have made a HUGE difference in reducing pain in my knees. I wanted to find something that would work similarly with my western saddle. And there are a lot of options, but the one I decided on is very affordable. Tough One stirrup turners cost about $8.00 on Amazon. They come in 2 sizes, 2.5″ and 3″. I chose the 3″ ones and they fit my saddle perfectly!

The stirrup turners were a little bit challenging for me to put on, but I was able to get them on. And the video is about 9 minutes long, which was edited down from about 90 minutes of me trying to figure out how to get them on! Hopefully this will be helpful for anyone who is thinking about trying these out.

25 Ways Anyone Can Make Extra Money

I have watched videos like this myself, and a lot of my subscribers have been asking for specific ways of how to earn extra money. So I finally took the time to make this video. There are SO many ways to make a little extra cash. And in this video I talk about at least 25 different ways you can earn some cash.

This video also inspired a post, I was demonetized on YouTube. It was kind of a rant because YouTube decided this video wasn’t advertiser friendly. But I was able to get my frustration out in the blog post. So, I’m better now. (Sarcasm)

Making Horse Art With Breyer Models

Oh my goodness! This video was so much fun to make! I got the idea after finding some really unique wall art, or hooks on Etsy and I decided to try and make it. While mine didn’t turn out 100% like the ones in the Etsy store, I still think it turned out well. And this has sparked some new ideas in my head, which the videos will be coming out over the next several months, just in time for the holidays!

And I had some fun within the video. I did a shout out to a subscriber, and my husband’s face makes a brief cameo appearance. I thought it was funny, so I had to leave it in the finished video.

How To Make Your Own Wood Stain

When I was making the Breyer horse art, I had to find a piece of wood to use for the back of the art. But all of the wood I had was new. And I wanted the wood to look old, but since that wasn’t an option (sigh) I found a way to make homemade wood stain. It was so simple and inexpensive to make! I can’t take credit for figuring this out, I did a YouTube search for DIY wood stain, and then I tweaked it to suit my needs.

I am also going to be building a wall in my barn for my horses this weekend and to preserve the wood, and hopefully detour them from chewing on it I will be applying this stain to the wood. That video will be out next week, if it goes well!

The Week In Review

So that is it for this week! I was able to upload 4 videos which I hope will be helpful, or at least entertaining. What do you think of the budget equestrian weekly video recap? Is this helpful for you? I hope it is! I would love to know what you think, as well as any ideas of new videos you would like to watch. Do you have any burning ideas of projects you would like to make, or see how to do? Leave me a comment to let me know what you would like to see. I am always looking for ideas of projects to make. And if you have a great idea, I might just have to make a video for you!

Like I always say at the end of every video, thanks for watching and until next time, stay passionate and enjoy your ride!
