No Riding Today
Well the rains came heavy yesterday by the time I got home from work which meant, no riding for the evening. And that’s ok. My yard is happy that it decided to rain, and so is my arena. I did manage to slip and fall on my way out of Ethan’s pen. But hopefully this evening will be better for working with Ethan.
But thankfully, my Heart To Horse Box came in the mail. So at least I had something I could write about for today’s blog post! I had been getting The Heart To Horse faithfully for about 2 years. And then when I started taking riding lessons, I decided to stop getting this subscription box. However, since I haven’t been able to do riding lessons for now, I re-subscribed to The Heart To Horse Box! And just in case you were curious of what comes in this subscription box, I thought I would share it with you.
And I also included some links to the products that came in the box. Some of the links are affiliate links, which means if you chose to purchase something from one of the links I provide, I get a small commission from your purchase. It’s not much, but it does help me to earn a little bit of income to continue producing content for my blog and YouTube channel!
August 2018 Heart To Horse Box Unboxing
The Heart To Horse Box is an equine subscription box that you can order from horse.com or statelinetack.com. The box costs $34.99 per month. And if you sign up for their auto ship program, you save 10% of the cost. They ship they box out around the 12th of the month. But for some reason, it takes a long time to reach Colorado. For August, there were 4 items in the box.
Tipperary Safety Equestrian Sunglasses
When I opened the box, and saw the case for these sunglasses, I was impressed. And when I opened the case, I was even more impressed! These are a very nice pair of sunglasses. And they have safety lenses, so if something happens, and you have a wreck, the lens will not harm your eyes, in theory. From the manufacture: “Tipperary Equestrian Safety Glasses EN-166 Certified equestrian safety glasses are a great accessory while riding to protect your eyes from the sun and from any unknown objects or particles from flying into your eyes.”
The case is great, and has a clip on it so you can carry the case with you. And the glasses are very nice. They are lightweight and form fitting, to protect your eyes from the sun, as well as anything that could potentially fly into your eyes. They have a UV protection value of 400. And they are difficult to find online. After I did a search, I did find them on Amazon. The retail value of these sunglasses is $39.99, so the sunglasses covered the box for value already!
Like I said they are hard to find online, but if you wanted a pair you can look them up on Amazon here.
Lettia Tall Boot Socks – Daisy Pattern
I have a new obsession with boot socks. This is probably because I have so many of them now, thanks to subscription boxes. Before I started getting these subscriptions, I had never bought a pair of boot socks. And thanks to the boxes, I probably won’t ever have too. And while I have a lot of boot socks that are thicker, I was happy to get these. These Lettia tall boot socks are thinner than most of the socks I have. Which right now, I am thankful for. It’s nice to have thinner socks, especially when it is 90 degrees outside.
And these have a super cute pattern on them, daisies. I love daisies. And I love pink. So these socks are perfect for me! The socks are nylon and spandex and have a lot of stretch. They are one size fits all, and I even tried them on my arms to test for fit. I think they really are one size fits most, but I am sure they will fit most riders.
I didn’t realize how much boot socks cost, but you can find these on Amazon, or Horse.com for around $11.99
Sterling Essentials Leather Cleaner and Conditioner
I was really excited to get some leather cleaning product in my Heart To Horse Box this month. And I did a little research on these products, thanks to the hang tag that came in the packaging. These products are all natural, and include essential oils, and food grade ingredients. And I was excited to see that they help prevent mold and mildew on leather. The reason I was excited about this is because my awesome Schleese saddle that I have has always had a faint smell of mold and mildew, no matter how often I clean it. So I am very excited to try these products on my saddle, and see if it will get rid of that smell. I mean, leather is supposed to smell like leather, not old mildew-y nastiness.
I will have to give this a full try, and then do a review on it to see if it really works. I think it should, because you can smell the lavender when you open the containers. And if you would like to learn more about Sterling Essentials products, they have a great website where they explain their products, and the benefits.
The retail value of this starter set is $7.95 on Sterling Essentials website, which makes it really affordable to give these products a try.
Absorbine Bute-Less Comfort and Recovery Support
I believe this is a sample size of this product. I haven’t used it before, so I am not sure how well it works. But nevertheless, I love trying new products, and might have to see what Frisby thinks about it. The one thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t say how much is considered a serving. It says to give one scoop, but there is no scoop in this tiny package. So i’m not sure if it is one ounce, two ounces, or …..???? So I guess I will have to do a little more research before I feed it to my horses.
August Heart To Horse Box Yay or Neigh?
Well, I have to say I am impressed with the value of this box. If I were to buy each item that was included, it would have cost me around $60.00, plus shipping. So the value was definitely there. But more importantly, I get to try some new products, and see how they work. This is why I love these subscription boxes.
So yes, I am happy with the August Heart To Horse Box, and I am looking forward to what the September box holds!
Lewis Johnson
The box is definitely worth the price! Thanks for showcasing the box.
