Rest Day For Your Horse – Busy Day For You
Well it’s another day in our being a better rider challenge and I know we haven’t been doing extremely strenuous work outs with our horses, but they are still work outs. So today will be a rest day….for the horses. But for me, (and possibly you) I am going to do a few barn projects that I have been meaning to get too.
Today’s post is a little late, but that’s because I actually had to do the work before I could share the results with you.
Jeffer’s Equine Unboxing
About a week ago I placed an order with Jeffer’s Equine, and that came so I thought today would a perfect day to go through my new treasures, and share what I got with you.
Asthma and Allergy Medicine drops
Simplify Supplement
I didn’t get a lot, but just some things I really needed for my barn, and my horses. I made a video of it which you can watch on my YouTube channel, The Budget Equestrian. If you didn’t know, I have been posting videos to go along with this 31 day challenge every day too. You can watch all of the videos if you are more of a visual learner.
But after getting the goody box, I had to put everything away. And while doing that of course you know I can find 15 other things I need to do in the barn/tack room.
First Things Next
Now that I had all of my treasures, I had to put them away. First thing to do was to keep my horses out of the way, so out to the back pasture they went. This way they can be happy grazing on what little grass there is in the pasture while I get to work.
Even with trying very hard to stay organized, when you are riding and working with horses every single day your barn/tack room can still become unorganized. There is hay laying around and stuff gets pushed out of the way, or things get left out.
And for the last week we have been getting afternoon rainstorms every day. This is not very helpful when I need to get my stalls cleaned. And as always, I have a project list that is a mile long.
So this is my goal list for the day;
- Horses turned out
- Stalls stripped and clean
- Wash the walls in the barn
- Finish painting barn trusses
- Hang up new barn lights (and take down the old Christmas lights that were there)

- Reorganize and clean the tack area
Not a huge list, but a lot of chores that have been waiting to get done. And I also have to add in getting videos ready for the upcoming week. But it is truly a labor of love.
The Final Result
The end result is so worth the work that needed to be done.
A clean tack room…..
A clean barn……
And happy horses….
The Final Result
A few hours well spent in my opinion. I don’t know about you, but I am pooped! But it is all worth it, because now I am re-organized, and ready to start the week fresh with a whole new week of riding challenges. I hope you’re ready~
