First, I have to tell you – my kitchen makeover is done. I haven’t posted the final two weeks on it, because there wasn’t much more to talk about. But I will have a final reveal shortly. But, when I found out about this….
Well, this took over in my brain as a high high priority to share!
The Saga Continues
Oh wow. I have some very exciting news, well it’s exciting to me. Just WOW! Ok, a few years before Covid, I ruffled a few feathers, because I had found out the Colorado Horse Park was being sold. I had people telling me to stop spreading “fake news”. Not fake, that happened.
And I can’t say anything from a competitor point of view, but from a spectator’s point of view, well it hasn’t been near as good as it used to be. Each year it seemed to get less and less, good. For lack of a better way to see it. But Lynda and I would always go, year after year to the summer shows because, well, we love it.
But this past summer, at the shows, a lot of the magic really seemed to be fading. Not for the lack of participation of the people that were on the show grounds. Actually the people that were at the shows this year were incredibly friendly and kind.
We didn’t even make it back for the Fall series.
Hope For The Horse Park
But I am so excited to share what I just learned – The Colorado Horse Park has once again been sold! Good riddance to the previous owner who didn’t have quite the same level of love for the Horse Park as many of the local, or should I say Colorado people.
And for those who may doubt what I am writing, this is directly from the Official Colorado Horse Park Facebook page:
“ Singletree Equestrian, a group of Littleton Equine Medical Center veterinarians and key stakeholders would like to formally announce the purchase of the Colorado Horse Park!
This venue has been such an asset to the Colorado and multi-state regional horse community and will continue to be an asset to our Colorado Equestrian community. The beautiful grounds will stay a refuge in a sea of new homes and a connection to the Douglas County rural past. We will continue to host the national and international shows in coordination with Langer Equestrian Group, and over the next few years we plan to create a world class equine hospital and referral center at the horse park, as well as continuing to improve and expand the horse show facility. We couldn’t ask for a better partner in producing our horse shows than LEG Shows & Events.
We are incredibly excited for this next chapter in the history of the Colorado Horse Park and we’re looking forward to 2023!”
Oh. My.Goodness!!!! How awesome is this?
And I for one (and I am speaking for Lynda now too) and Lynda for two, are so excited to see what will transpire with the announcement of the new ownership.
Looking Forward to 2023
It is so great that a group of individuals who know what the facility has to offer, and the potential for greatness will be the owners of the Colorado Horse Park. And with a potential of having a world class equine hospital so close – just so incredible!
And I am so excited to see how this new ownership group will impact the horse park.
I guess we will all have to stay tuned to see how this goes, but I am hopeful with having a local group as owners of the horse park, that are horse people….
Well, it all looks promising, or at least that is how my heart feels. According to the official statement (can I say that?) They will still be working with Langer Equestrian Group for the Horseshows that they currently have. And maybe, we will have some more shows? Or maybe some shows for those of us who would love to have the opportunity to show at such an incredible venue – but aren’t the ultra rich? Dare to dream, maybe?
I understand that putting on a horse show is very expensive, but it would be really cool to be able to be a ‘regular’ horse person, and be able to actually show at the horse park.
Well I digress, that is a completely different topic for another time. For now I will return back to my excited frame of mind, hoping for the Colorado Horse Park revival of years past.
Have you heard of this recent development of the Colorado Horse park? What are your thoughts? I would love to know! Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts!

I love the Colorado by Horse Park, formerly High Prairie; and while I have never owned a horse, I have enjoyed the athleticism of both the riders and the horses especially during the Grand Prix events. I was dismayed the past few years as it seemed the facility had begun to deteriorate, and the events were not the same caliber as those held when Helen Kreble owned High Prairie. Maybe it will change with this new ownership.

Hi Bernadette!
I agree – when the Colorado Horse Park was High Prairie Farms, it was incredible. I was sad when it was sold, and even sadder to see how the property was transforming – and not in a good way. As always, though, I am excited to see what the new owners do to help elevate the property to its former glory! Fingers crossed that this will be a great year for the Horse Park!
