I Won An Arena Saddle
How’s that for a title of a blog post? I won a saddle, for reals! I did! I did! If you follow me on Instagram, you probably know back in August Heels Down Magazine was having a contest. And the winner of this contest would get a brand new saddle of their choice from Arena Saddles. If you haven’t heard of them, stick around for when I do a real world review of the saddle.
And the contest fit in perfectly with my real riding challenge that I did for myself for the month of August. And the contest was not a random selection, no, the people at Heels Down Magazine were choosing the winner! So I started posting videos, and photos on my Instagram, showing what I was working on with both of my horses. All in I had over 35 entries between my photos, videos, and Facebook postings.
So September 6th, the last day of the contest came and went. My work was done, and I felt that I had put in a solid performance. I kept checking to see if they had announced a winner, and every few seconds kept checking my direct messages to see if I had been chosen as the winner.
After a few days had passed, I had reserved myself to thinking I hadn’t been chosen. And that’s ok, I mean I did a lot of great things with my horses, and I was proud of myself for even entering the contest.
But then something incredible happened….
I was sitting at work, working, and I noticed I had a message on Instagram. My heart started beating super fast as I saw it was from Heels Down Mag. I couldn’t even read past “Congratulations!” I started saying Oh my god, Oh my god, oh my god……I won! I won!” My coworkers were just about as excited as I was as they came and gave me a big hug. I seriously had tears in my eyes, I was beyond excited!
I still can’t believe it actually happened.
And then a week went by, and I hadn’t heard from Arena saddles and I was starting to wonder if I would ever get my new treasure. But then I heard from them and I was super excited again!
And on Tuesday evening, I came home to a great big box sitting on my front porch. I knew what it was. Cue the excitement again.
When I opened the box I was so impressed with the packaging, along with the saddle itself. It’s so beautiful!
And the leather is soooo soft and pliable.
Before the saddle got here, I had been doing my research of how to care for my new Arena saddle. And on their website, they tell you even before you ride in it, be sure to give it a good coating of leather balm.
And while I was busy coating my new saddle in a nice coat of Leder Balsam, I started thinking about how I was going to use my saddle.
And while I was waiting for my awesomeness to come, I doctored up an ear bonnet to match the colors of my new saddle, as well as a new saddle pad. #don’tbeaquitter. I had to go with green, because, well, that is one of the main colors for Arena saddles. And Green looks good on a bay, right?
And then I came up with a plan of what I intend to do with this saddle, and my horses.
I am a big believer in signs. And I am not one to be complacent and just go with the flow. No, I like to push myself (as well as my horses) and I want to show both Arena Saddles, and Heels Down Magazine how grateful I am for this incredible opportunity.
My goal is to get at least one of my horses to a show next summer. And I want to be riding in my Arena saddle. I’m starting small, and will be going to my local riding club shows, but depending on how good we do, maybe, just maybe we will be able to get ourselves to the CHJA shows at the Colorado Horse Park.
I Won an Arena Saddle!
I look at this saddle as an opportunity, and I don’t want to waste it. I am so grateful, and thankful to Arena Saddles and Heels Down Magazine for this opportunity.
Thank you, Heels Down Magazine and Arena Saddles for having this contest. I am so happy that I won, and I promise, I will make fantastic use of my new saddle!
And if you want to see a video of me opening up the box, and taking out the saddle I made an uboxing video. I think I said “oh my goodness” and “it’s so soft” and “I’m so excited” about 300 times. But hey, that’s who I am, and I am super excited!!!!
